Email

A new, bigger and better email service is coming to DoorPI!  Here are a few of the big improvements:

  1. Much, much larger storage.  5,000 Megabytes (5 Gigs) vs our old limit of 100 Megabytes.
  2. Much slicker webmail system.  You have to see it to believe it. Supports Windows 7 and IE-8.  Right Click options. Drag and Drop.  Much more.
  3. Spam Filter/Junk folder built-in to webmail system so no separate login to manage.
  4. Outlook Sync.  Outlook add-on syncs your Outlook with Webmail (including calendar and contacts).
  5. Mobile Sync.  Client downloads for most cell phones including iPhone, BlackBerry, and Windows Mobile.
  6. Online file storage and sharing.  Make some of your files, documents, or photos available from anywhere.
  7. Much more.

Here is how you access the new service.

Best and easiest way is just go to http://inbox.DoorPI.net
You login username is your username.doorpi and your password is your password of course.
Don't panic if you get a certificate warning.  Proceed to the site and accept the certificate.  You can trust us on this one :)

To setup a desktop client such as Outlook or Thunderbird, use these settings:

<<<------- VIEW STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS OR "HOW TO" VIDEOS.  CHOOSE FROM MENU ON THE LEFT.

incoming server is POP.DOORPI.NET  port 110 ( to leave messages on server use IMAP.DOORPI.NET port 143 ).

outgoing server is SMTP.DOORPI.NET  port 25 or 5125 (requires authentication - use same settings as incoming).

username is the first part of your email address followed by .doorpi
For example if your are janedoe@doorpi.net, your username is janedoe.doorpi

We use standard ports but if you have trouble (port 25 blocked on your connection), you can use port 5125 for SMTP outgoing.
Port 5125 will allow you to send through Cellcom and various dialup accounts that may block 25.

You will still be able to use http://webmail.doorpi.net to access any messages or contacts stored on the old server, but no new email will come in to that page.  Eventually this will be taken down.
